Help! Slooowwww connection to some secure sites

Hilton Evans

Has anyone experienced this.

When I try to connect to a secure site,
usually a brokerage site, I get a long delay
and a ton of data being transmitted to me.
The delay can be minutes with one or more
megabytes transferred before I finally get
a login screen.

This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

A 600KB+ file must be loaded if:

is enabled.

This option appears under
Tools | Internet Options | Advanced | Security | Check for publisher's certificate revocation
