Help setting up MSN Wordpad

My main use of a word processor is typing 3 columns per page of mailing
lists. On Microsoft Word I had no problem, but my new computer has Wordpad.
How can I set up Wordpad so it will make 3 columns per page with a header at
the top?

You can't. WordPad is a minimum performance word processor. It will only do very basic document
preparation.
The only advantage of WordPad is that it is free and is included in every copy of Windows.

Microsoft Word, or Corel WordPerfect, or Microsoft Works Word Processors are not free and are not
included with the Windows Operating System. You have to buy them separately. (Some PC suppliers
include a copy, but you still paid for it!)

Microsoft Works Suite (not just plain Works) includes a Word and that is the least expensive way to
get Word.

Of you can download a copy of OpenOffice off the Web for free. (It is a big download so ask a
friend to do it if you have a dial-up service). OpenOffice Writer will do what you want and you can
configure it to save files as Word Documents so that you can share them with users who do have Word.

Wordpad which comes with Windows, is really just a glorified text editor,
not a full-featured word processor. If you want word processing
functionality, you need to acquire a word processor. You can buy, for
example, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, the inexpensive StarOffice, or
download the free OpenOffice.
