HELP!!!! screwed up my Norton Anti Virus somehow!!!!!!!!

messed up my virus software and cant perform a full system scan and says my
computer is not protected when all appears to be normal with the Norton?????
Tried to uninstall by add/remove programs and think i took out something i
shouldnt have. Keep re-installing but just wont work properly now?? Any
solutions anyone may have for me?????
