HELP! Screen went very dark...

I can barely see anything, but everything on the desktop seems to be
functioning o.k. I need to know what to do on my laptop to fix this problem.
As it is right now I have to get to the screen so close just to be able to
type this.

Any ideas what caused the problem?

Did your laptop suddenly switch from light to dark, or was it dark from when
you last switched it on?

Brightness settings are usually in the hardware itself, so it will depend
exactly what your laptop is. Make sure your laptop is fully charged. Do you
still have the manual that came with your laptop?

Yes. The screen was light. Then it got turned off. After a couple of hours
it was turned back on and the screen was dark. I no longer have the manaul
for the laptop. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? The laptop was and
always is plugged into a wall outlet as well.

This is a hardware problem, not software (Windows). You'll need to
contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for repair/replacement.
