Help retrieving a lost file

Hello!

I was working on a word file last night and when I went to access it tonight
it was gone! I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I did a search and
nothing. The one thing that I did today that could possibly have affected it
is to delete my cookies and browsing history in IE7. The file I was working
on was downloaded from Firefox and then saved- did I accidentally delete it?
And if so, is there any way to retrieve it? I opened the trash can and I
don't see it. Please help!!!

How did you search? Did you use the entire filename or wildcards? Do you
know the directory you saved it to?

Tried searching for your missing file using *.RTF , *.DOC , *.TXT ...? With
advanced search box checked and searching in local disk C: ..?

You could search for all files modified on a certain date: Search for
*.doc, Look in 'Local Hard Drives', open 'When was it Modified' and
'Specify Date', open 'More Advanced Options' and check 'Search Hidden
Files and Folders'. If you remember a key word or phrase from your
document, you could alternately search for 'A word or phrase in the
file'.
