Help: Ram Info Please

I need to get 512mb sticks of 3.3V, unbufferered SDRAMS, and have the
opportunity to pick up some from "Viking Components". But the only info
I could get is the following:

PC133 Compliant
98407760
512MB PC133
NON-ECC CL3 DIMM

Can anyone tell me if this is unbuffered?
THanks a lot.

That is unbuffered RAM. Just be sure that your motherboard
supports 512MB SDRAM RAM and if so, high density or
low density. Older motherboards will only see the full size
when using low density (more expensive) modules.

Thanks a lot.

The motherboard I have is an CUV4X(AGP Pro/4X).

All PC133 SDRAM is 3.3 V. and is unbuffered and non-ECC unless otherwise stated.

Your motherboard will accept both low density and
high density SDRAM modules so you won't have
a problem.

Thanks for all the advice.

Am I correct in assuming that my ASUS CUV4X motherboard will not accept
registered ECC memory?

Thanks a lot.

Yes. However, it will accept unbuffered ECC memory.

Thanks.

I also assume that since the mobo manual says PC100 or PC133, anything
more advanced than that will not work, or will it work, but not to it's
full potential?

Thanks again.

ECC is not supported on that chipset, IIRC that it's a Via
694X or 694T? Via's website might provide full specs
relating to memory per that northbridge.

The CUV4X absolutely supports ECC memory. See, for example:

Hmmm, I'm wrong. Could've sworn all all the 694 boards I'd
seen didn't, though I don't remember anyone wanting to build
a system on 694X with ECC memory either so maybe that's why
I was mistaken, jumped to wrong conclusion.

Thanks Bob.

Okay, now I'm confused.

My mobo will take unbuffered and ECC, but not registered SDRAMs,
correct?

Thanks.

Yes, that's correct. "Unbuffered" is the flip side of "registered".
The CUV4X will take unbuffered ECC memory as well as
unbuffered memory without ECC. Registered memory is another
animal, but also comes in ECC and non-ECC versions.
