Help: Problem with XP

I

Ivan

Hi,
Ive been having problems with my XP Pro. I thought that
i had a virus which would be the msblast.exe but i dont
but my computer has been damaged by something like it.
My computer does a memory dump almost every 5-10minutes
and says there is problems with Ip address and stuff like
that. It us to do the RPC, and shut down in 1min but
thats stoped and just get memory dumps all the time.
Ive Partitioned my computer several times and installed a
fresh copy of XP but the same problem happends in minutes
after installation. I dont know what to do Please help me.

Thank you

Have you turn your firewall ON?

Is your anti-virus current and up to date? Have your booted
the computer with your anti-virus CD and then run a scan?
(the computer can boot to the CD and use the latest virus
definitions that you have downloaded. It ca then scan and
clean protected system files.)
Have you tried an on-line virus scan?

Changing or adding partitions doesn't cure your problem, you
need to format (full format) of the boot partition and do a
clean install if you can't find/fix the problem otherwise.

When you install a fresh copy of XP, the firewall is not ON
by default. You must turn it on BEFORE you connect to the
Internet the first time. (It is on the advanced tab of the
connection properties)

After the ICF is turned ON, you can (must) go on-line and
download the critical updates. You can also download and
install a different firewall if you want. (I used Zone
Alarm).

Install your anti-virus and do it's updates.

Yes my Firewall is turned on,
Ive got an anti virus prgram installed on my computer
the Problem with that is that, it wont UPDATE anything,
IT WONT SCAN my files, it wont do anything just says it
cant open it. Ive tried other anti virus programs but
they dont work and they wont scan anything because of
this problem, it used to work. The first thing when i
install XP is install an anti virus program and do the
updates first but right now i cant do anything with any
anti virus programs. i dont know what to do.
Online or progam anti virus scanners dont work for my
computer becuase of this problem.

Install Windows, create connection and turn firewall ON.
Download updates, then install anti-virus or be sure to turn
the anti-virus off (leave firewall on) when doing Windows
Updates.

See if you can run "sfc /scannow"
