Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")
Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")
Next, go to the below location:

Many thanks for those tips. I have tried unticking the box and already use
spybot AND adaware regularly!! The sites I use a lot do start with Http
too.
But pages still awfully slow to load which never used to be the case.
Am I a lost cause????
I use IE 6 with win XP and until recently has been fine. But in the last
few days it is taking ages to open web pages. Have defraged, emptied temp
internet files and cookies, but to no avail. I dont have a virus, and
anyway everything else is working fine inc outlook express and fast. Only
thing I have done recently is to intall zonealarmspro instead of norton.
Would it help to reinstall ie6 do you think? Anyone come up with any
other ideas?Please!!
