help, please, with icons

I installed a program, AutoDesk DWF viewer... it became the default 'dst'
viewer - which I do not want...

(DST is an embroidery file, for my uses anyway)...

I went into file extensions and changed the default program to Coats, an
embroidery program.. however the icon is still the DWF program, no option to
change icon, and in addition, under file types, it tells me I have
customized using Coats, click restore for default DWF viewer...

DWF viewer, btw, does not have any options- as far as I can find, to set
which file types to use...

Anywhere I can look?? I found something under the registry.. under AutoDesk,
but don't to tinker - yet!

Thank you!

If you rt click the programs Icon and select Properties, a dialog box
with an option to
set the program as default should be there. Usually under general
settings. If not

Try going to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and Uninstall AutoDesk DWF.
Restart and try reinstalling. During the Installation there should be
a dialog box or message saying do
you want this to be the default viewer. Say, No if there.

Thanks Rich.. actually, we're getting closer... when I right click a dst
file, Windows thinks that a dst file is DWG TruView file, hence why it's
showing that icon.. how to I get to that??

Found it.. on a hunch, found the file types listed in Registry, under
TruView....

I altered the name.. and it works.. Seems both programs use dst
extensions... - TruView, which is a CAD program, and Coats and Madeira,
which are embroidery programs....

If the 2 ever cross, depending if the files is an embroidery.dst file or an
autocad.dst program, I would like to be the one to determine which
application I need to use...

thanks again! All set!
