help please loosing 1 years work

Can no longer open word files.The document stays gray
and does not open.It says that it requires virus
scan ..after this it will stay gray for ever.Tried to
reach it via different ways but result the same
 
Sounds like the problem is with Word rather than with your document. Can you
get Word to start at all?

Presumably you've at least SOME backups from the past year?
