HELP PLEASE!!! Can't Get either CD drives to acknowledge disc

Hello and thanks for reading this. I can't get my cd
drives to pick up inserted disk. Once in a while after
coninuous trying, I have gotten it to pick it, and then it
doen't work properly. I can't install the rest of my
programs. Please help if you have any ideas.

Jana it sounds like the CD-ROM player is dying or the CD-ROMs are CDRs or the CD-ROMs are dirty. You can look in your Event Viewer.

hey there! Have you tryed cleaning the disc drives with a
regular cd player disc cleaner. The disc cleaner you can
get at any record store, i.e. wherehouse music. or you can
even pick them up at Savons, Thrifty's, Walgreens,
Walmart! if this isn't the case then your cdroms made be
bad, but it would be odd if you have 2 cdroms and they
both have the same issues. when purchasing a cdrom
cleaning disc you may want to purchase a disc cleaner
also. this will eliminate all possible dirty parts of the
equation. good luck. if these don't work post a new
message and I can give you other suggestions.
