It won't work doesn't tell us much. Can you tell us what you mean and what
it is your doing when it fails? PowerPoint version and Windows version?

the programs did not work

"did not work" means a lot of things to a lot of people. You'll have to
provide more information if you want help.
powerpoint 2001 xp

Please open PPT, go to Help/About, and actually check your version of PPT.
"XP" can be either Windows XP or PowerPoint XP (aka PPT 2002), and PPT 2001
is not a Windows product. So please also specify what product you mean when
you say "XP."

You have to help us help you. We're not mind readers.

I used the VCD clipper to extract a videoclip. But Powerpoint is
unable to recognise the video. Does Powerpoint only accept AVI or MPG??
The Powerpoint in my older notebook is able to display AVI movies.
But the PowerPoint in my new notebook is unable to do so.
Is there any special codec I need to install?

Appreciate any guidance

Thanks

Fine, but you're the only one who knows what you've tried and what's happened
as a result. Until you explain, there's no way to offer help.
