Help on after installing windows XP SP2

[MS MVP\(04&05\),MS CS\(TW&HK\)--Ken Lin for .NET]

I installed it in my english winXP, after it, when I open some file which is
attached in outlook/outlook express, if the filename has some chinese char,
it pop up an error on invalid path as the chinese filename change into
"?????". But if I save it to my HD, and double click from windows explorer,
it is fine.

Also, before I got a Chinese ActiveSync(as i use chinese PocketPC and the
ActiveSync come with PPC's CD is chinese version), there is a icon in the
right corner of the taskbar. Well, all the char now is in "???", even the
function, button.....etc

Why this happen? How to change? for activeSync, I can reinstall it. But for
other windows problem( like cannot open chinese file from openning the
attached file from OE), how i can solve?

Outlook Express, Tools menu, Options, Read tab, "International Settings"
button, remove check from "use default encoding..."

Hi, Michael. Thanks, I was glad to see so many familiar names still here.

I was a bit surprised to see this is still one of the top volume newsgroups.
My 'two day old unanswered' rule doesn't seem to keep me from daily finding
a good number of users desperately needing a pointer to the info.
