Pls help me. I am new to all this. I need to know how to download my
bookmarks to disc to save incase I have a problem with my computer. I was
told to go to internet explorer and do this, But I don't know where or what
to do. Pls can someone pls walk me thur this step by step ? I would really
appreciate it.

Also I am having problems with hotbar, I get a error message of activex is
not taking this. I heard that it might be safer not to have hotbar. Is this
true? And if not how would I change this message?

Thank you so much....

Find the Favorites Folder and copy the contents to a floppy or CD. Not the
folder itself, just the contents, which are all of your bookmarks. Then,
when you need to restore them to the Favorites Folder in a new installation
of Internet Explorer, for whatever reason, just copy the contents into the
Favorites Folder.

Isn't Hotbar a form of spyware or adware or a hijacker?

I'M NEW AT ALL THIS ASWELL. AND HAD A SIMILA PROBLEM WITH HOT BAR. WHAT I DID
WAS; RESET MY COMPUTER TO BEFORE I INSTALLED IT.
CLICK START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, THEN SYSTEM RESTORE.
YOU WILL BE ASKED WHAT PREVIOUS DATE YOU WANT TO RESTORE TO, WHICH YOU SELECT
ON A CALENDAR, YOU MAY LOOSE SOME OF THE FILES YOU'VE SAVED SINCE BUT IT DOES
GET RID OF HOTBAR. OR YOU COULD TRY GOING ONLINE, PUT A SEARCH IN FOR HOTBAR.
YOU'LL GET LOADS OF SITES THAT HAVE PROGRAMES TO REMOVE HOTBAR AND OTHER
SPYWARE, BUT I THINK YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM.

From the Internet Explorer, go to File - Export and choose "export
favorites" Then accept the name they suggest, or rename the files and
choose a location for storing the file. If you like, use a floppy disk or
USB drive. If you want it on a CD, you may have to save it to the
harddrive, then copy it to a CD.
This backup is a neat little file that when viewed shows you the complete
organization of your favorites. If you need to recover your backups,
simply start IE on your new system and go to File - Import and choose
"favorites" and point the computer to your backup file.
