Hi there,
I have an Asus P5GDC-V Deluxe motherboard and have already
successfully installed a RAID1 (Mirrored) Setup (using the Intel RAID
configuration) with two WD 200GB SATA hard drives.
I installed Win XP Pro on this drive.
I also have installed a WD 120GB HD and an WD 80GB on the IDE cable -
bit of a red herring really as these have nothing to do with the
problem !
I have now just installed 2 more WD 200GB SATA drives to the two
vacant SATA (Data) connectors on the motherboard.
I configured these with the Intel RAID option ROM utility (as I did
with the other 2 drives) but this time as RAID0, to give me one big
400GB HD.
I checked in the BIOS and it does recognise both the RAID1 and RAID0
drives. All 4 drives are brand new, from same supplier and have the
same manufacture date !
PROBLEM :-
~~~~~~~
When I go into Windows Explorer, the new RAID0 drive is not displayed
- the RAID1 is there as are the other two IDE ones .. exactly as
before !
I then went into "Control Panel" and onto "Device Manager".
Under "Disk Drives" both the RAID1 AND the RAID0 drives are there, so
presumably Win XP is seeing them but Explorer isn't ?
I also need to format them to NTFS as I have done with all the other
drives .. I did this from Windows XP.
Help ... I don't know what to do next to get Windows Explorer to see
the new array... I want to use the new array to install games and edit
video clips but I cannot access it......
Hope some kind soul; can help me .. it is probably something very
simple !
Thanks in advance ,
Steve
