Help! New Icons

W

Wayne

I am operating Windows XP with SP2. Recently the icons for all my programs
have started appearing down the left hand side of my computer screen. This
just started happening. I have no idea why and it is not a feature that I
want to have. They are very large and very bright and appear one above the
other down the whole side of the monitor.

Could someone tell me why this has started to happen and how I can shut it
off, please?

Sometimes if you use a temp/useless file cleaner, or even use the
cleaner that comes in Firefox, when you reboot all your icons may appear
on the left hand side of your screen. I dont know why it happens, but
generally all you have to do is move them back to where you want them
and next time you reboot they will stay where you put them.

Sounds like you've possibly enabled Common Tasks. MVP Doug Knox makes it
easy to remove this:
