Help needed to backup old gmail files to Outlook 2007

Hi,

Basically, I have 1,000+ posts already copied to my HDD/Outlook folders,
which is fine...

BUT, I can't sync posts prior to March '09, whereas I need it to sync all my
mail, dating back to 2005/09/03. I have both IMAP and POP enabled, with POP
saying "Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since
03/09/2005", yet I can't get Outlook to retrieve messages from before
2009/03/13, nor has it retrieved ANY of my spam (not that I want spam, but
will have to go through and make sure nothing's slipped through the net),
folders, sent mail, etc. etc.

When I hit Send/Receive everything sync's fine, except for the 'gmail
receive', which has the error: "Task '[me, user]@gmail.com - Receiving'
reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) email server has reported
an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your
server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server
responded: * OK Gimap ready for requests from 24.73.220.98 2if12289339aga.22'"

Any ideas? I need to sort this ASAP! I've noticed that it's not even syncing
emails that have been sent to my gmail today - some came through the first
time I sync'd and got these 1,000+ mails, but now nothing... >:-(

As you have something like 7.5 GB of email storage on Gmail, why are you so
concerned about downloading them to your HDD when you can access them
through your web browser?

Has Outlook received any of these messages in the past? One thing I'd try is
to log into gmail with a web browser, move the Inbox contents to some other
folder, perform a send/receive in Outlook, move the messages back to the Inbox
and reset the gmail POP settings to include all mesages. Then perform another
send/receive in Outlook.
When I hit Send/Receive everything sync's fine, except for the 'gmail

This is an error on the gmail server side. Outlook can't solve it.

Ok, thanks for the help. I tried copying the mails into a different folder
but that didn't work either - it must be the gmail servers like you said.

Because I want to, Gordon, because I want to. :p
