Help Needed Switching a Keybord and Mouse b/t 2 computers (no monitor)

I have two Dell computers. Both have USB 2.0 and Firewire imputs.
They both have graphics cards that run 2 monitors each. I want to
loose a keybord & mouse and free up some desk space. I have see many
KVM switches that offer Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor switching. Is
there a product out there that just switches Keyboard and Mouse? Can I
use a KVM switch and not hook up the monitors to it? Any recomdations
and advice is wanted.

You might look into VNC. That is virtual network computing. This will
allow you to control other computers from a single computer and is
fairly easy to get set up. That way you wouldn't even need the KVM
switch at all.

Yes you can, but if you have a wheel mouse, you may lose the wheel function when
you switch. I have such a problem and I buy another mouse for this.
