help needed playing dvd's

I have the latest updates for windows media player
but it will not let me play dvd's, where can i find
the codecs to make it work, im on xp.

You will need third party software such as cyberlink Power DVD to run/play
DVD's on XP.
It is unusual that this type of software wasn't bundled with your DVD
player.
