Help! Need recommendations for a new bulk ink source

M

Made Man

I am required to print approximately 250 full coverage pages daily.
Unfortunately, my bulk ink supplier of nearly 20 years has suddenly
gone out of business and I need some recommendation in a hurry. I
require only pigmented black ink and need a supplier that is
meticulous about filtering to the appropriate microns. Filtering and
quality is uppermost ... price is secondary.

What part of the world are you in?

Being in Canada, my personal preference is www.precisioncolors.com, who
use products manufactured by www.image-specialists.com in the U.S..
Many other posters use ink suppliers that redistribute ink products by
Image Specialists. They also have specialty inks for those
applications that call for it. Check them out.

I've been using refilled carts and bulk ink from www.inksupply.com in
Canon printers for years. Never a problem. I don't print at anything
near to your volume though.

In the USA, I'd suggest looking at www.alotofthings.com. If you buy bulk ink, you'll get Formulabs, which is as good as it gets.

I would not do business with them.  I suggest you use OEM ink.

It looks like www.inksupply.com (MIS) apparently distributes bulk ink
manufactured by Image Specialists (www.imagespecialists.com). Does MIS
also manufacture their own ink as they claim, or do they just repackage
bulk ink from Image Specialists (or others)? The presence of this page
at the MIS website, though there doesn't seem to be any direct link to
it on the website, leaves me wondering... (see www.inksupply.com/bulk
). MIS doesn't use IS part numbers, so better ask MIS before you buy,
to make sure you will be getting what you expect.

On another note, Sensient purchased Formulabs from Kimberly-Clark in
2002. Just Google Formulabs...

IS lists inksupply (MIS) as a distributer of their products, but inksupply
doesn't identify the manufacturer of their inks. They do have some unique
products - special black/gray inksets for printing black and white photos -
but I don't know who manufactures them either. I have been using MIS inks
for a few years, and specifically, the MIS black pigmented ink for refilling
the bci-3ebk carts for the Canon ip4000/5000 series since May of this year.

You do not know what they are selling because they will not tell you.  You will not even know if what you buy today will be the same stuff you bought 6 months ago.  They are a relabeler at best.  What ever they buy they resize and relabel it.

As I said they are a relabeler

I did ask and they refused to inform me who the mfg/formulator of the ink they sell is.
