Help .. my clipboard isn't working!

I have had a problem arise where my clipboard functionality disappears. I
think it might be due to viewing a certain webpage I'm working on within
Front Page 2000,
but I am not completely sure. I am running XP-2. When I try to copy and
paste something, the 'paste' shows up as only a clear space, rather than the
part that I actually copied. The only way to restore it is to restart my
computer. Can anyone help with how to fix this issue? I cannot live
without my clipboard! I tried installing some secondary program to help
with the clipboard (i.e. a clipboard memory type of program that remembers
what you copied for later pasting). It shows in that list the items that I
copied, but it still won't let me paste anything. Any suggestions?

How did you copy? Was it via Ctrl-C, or <Right-Click>Copy?

I have found that when copying highlighted text or graphics the venerable
Ctrl-C (a standard for 'copy' long before Windows or even Visi-On!) simply
doesn't work. In the same situations I have had to resort to mousing
around, potentially de-selecting what I want to copy, and performing the
awkward <Right-Click>Copy from the pulldown menu. While my ongoing work on
this level - I'm a cartoonist and freelance writer amongst other things -
requires copying in this manner, I have recognized that my use of Ctrl-C for
this purpose is waning, because it's just not consistent.

I should say that this behavior (or misbehavior) did not begin with Windows
XP, but on 2000. I more than suspect DirectX, but hey! Only MS knows for
sure, right?
