Help! Msg. Expired credentials for connectivity

I keep getting this pop up in Win 2000 several times an
hour.
I want to stop the annoyance.
"Expired Credentials-Windows needs your current
credentials to insure network connectivity. Please lock
this computer, then unlock it using your most recent
password or smart card" etc etc.
The laptop computer is one of three on a home network.
This error / meesage pops up while connected to company
server when telecommuting.
Can't find a thing on MS web site that explains anything.
Thanks in advance for any help to stop this annoying
thing.

check with your company IT people. it may be something for the vpn you are
using or with your smartcard.

Check with the admin at work, sounds like you password is expired at that end. ---
