help mouse keeps freezing during gameplay

when i play games my mouse randomly freezes at irregular
times if i log of and on ,it still is frozen unless i
reboot it doesent unfreeze untill i play again could this
be a driver or video card issue ? any suggestions would
be appreciated also i dont have a decent virus scan should
i go and buy one and go this route first? cause my current
freeware scanner "AVG" ISNT PICKING ANYTHING UP?

I don't actually think the answer will be found at Windows Update. The
problem could be caused by either hardware or software. On the software
side, the first thing to do is update your video and sound card
drivers. Do one thing at a time, try it for a while and see what
happens. Is the problem solved? If yes, then you know the answer; if
no, then move on to the next troubleshooting step. You might also try
updating your mouse drivers if you are using a special mouse, but I
doubt this is the cause. On the hardware side (and this is where I'd
look first), check for overheating problems, bad RAM, test the hard
drive(s), motherboard, processor. If you need more help, please post
back and include your system specs.
