When I try to open Internet explorer, My Computer, My
Documents, Control Panel, or many other things, I get this
error message: "The module was compiled with a trial
version of Delphi. The trial version has expired." ...and
it won't open! I don't know what to do...I didn't install
anything, and had never even heard of delphia until now!
Can you help me?

Most likely it will be listed in either MSConfig or as an addin to IE (eg a
BHO cos it does Explorer as well) listed under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browse
r Helper Objects (then look up number under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID to find
the file.

Use Spy++ to identify the process owning the dialog (email me and I lend you
the file) or try and identify which process appears when you start it in
Task Manager's Process tab (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete).

Hi,

I understand taht you receive an error message "The module
was compiled with a trial version of Delphi. The trial
version has expired." while opening any programs.

Please follow the steps given below in resolving the
problem:

1) Click Start > Run, type Inetcpl.cpl and click OK.
2) Click Advanced tab.
3) Uncheck the box for Enable Third Party Browser
Extensions
4) Uncheck the box for Display a notification about every
script error
5) Check the box for Disable script debugging
6) Click Apply and OK.
7) Close Internet Explorer.
8) Open a new window.

This will surely resolve the issue. If the problem
persits, uninstall Hamster 0.9 and download the last
version of Hamster 1.3 from the following web site:

http://perso.club-internet.fr/ztruk/hamster/download.htm

Good find, Rajesh. I suspect that before this is over, we will see several
different programs as a source for this error. Anything that was written
with that timed trial package and distributed - software and various
malware.

Kyle, I had a similar problem. I looked back in my System Restore to the
day before I installed the offending programme, restored to that point and
et voila problem resolved. This method works fine unless you have installed
another programme in the intervening period, in which case you will have to
re-install that programme.

So what was the program you installed?

My problem was that I un-installed RegSupreme and then tried to re-install
but I was prevented from doing so until after the 30 day period. As I said
I restored to a date prior to the original installation and then I was able
to re-install RegSupreme.
