Hi

I've accidently cut an important excel file instead of creating shortcut, how can i get this back?
I've looked in rubbish bin and surprise not there.
Please HELP.

Thanks

If you cut, then just paste in the same or any other folder and you'll get
it back!

Hi NB!

If you "cut" as opposed to deleted it, it must be around somewhere
still. When you cut and don't paste it anywhere the cut gets cancelled
and it's still stays where it was.

Do a file search using:

Start > search > For Files and Folders

But if you deleted, it should be in the Recycle bin unless you have
unusual settings.

If you have cut the file, then just paste it back in to
the folder. If it is not there when you try to paste it
back, try opening the windows clipboard by going to the
windows start menu, click run, and then type clipbrd.exe
and it should hopefully be there. If not then it is likely
that you have deleted it. If you are on a network, you
will probably not have access to the server trash can, and
as such you will have to go to your network administrator
to get them to do it for you. I suggest taking along a cup
of coffee and a packet of biscuits with you, as this will
always encourage them to retrieve it for you quickly.

Hope this helps

Paul

If you have actually deleted it

If you're using windows explorer and recognize that you made an error right
away, remember that you can do Edit|Undo (whatever action).

It may not help this time, though.
