Help mapping custom fields

Mark

I am trying to import a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that
has my contacts into an Outlook contacts folder.

I'm running into a problem when mapping custom fields.

I have several fields in my spreadsheet that I want added
to my Contacts. I've created new field names for these
but when I go to import the data, it won't let me map to
the new field names. It only gives me the default
options.

For example, I've created a field called, "Alt Contact
Email". This is how I want the field displayed in my
contacts folder. When I go to import the data, the
mapping will only let me map to "Email" or "Email2" etc.
I don't see the custom field I created for this.

Can someone point me in the right direction on this?

Thanks!

You cannot map to any pre-existing custom fields in Outlook nor can you
automatically create new fields from your input data source using the
Outlook Import function. You'll either need to write custom code or get a
3rd party solution (such as ContactGenie Importer - link below - which as
far as I know is the only 3rd party solution that enables either of these
scenarios) however there may be alternatives here:
