help! Making a configurator - stuck somewhere

hello! Where do I begin... Ok, how about I just jump into it? I hope this
isn't a really stupid question. I just can't figure this out.

I"m making a computer system configurator. So, the customer chooses a
motherboard from a drop down list. Based on the motherboard selection, a
case comes up. Based on the motherboard, they get a choice of memory options
(the memory is dependant on the motherboard). Based on the case selection
and motherboard selection, they get a choice of case options and hard drive
options etc..etc.. What I've done is made a dropdown list using validated
data and named list ranges. Problem is, once I've used a list name with a
motherboard part number, i can't use it again. Right? example.. customer
selects MOTHERBOARDX from the list of MOTHERBOARDX, MOTHERBOARDY,
MOTHERBOARDZ. So, in the "Case" dropdown list, it goes and picks named range
"MOTHERBOARDX" which gives a list of possible cases to choose from. Now that
the cases are named MOTHERBOARDX, I can't name a list of Memory modules with
the name "MOTHERBOARDX" right? am I going about this all wrong? is there any
other way of doing this?

Post here or e-mail me at (e-mail address removed)

Thanks!

Sounds like you may want another list dependent upon the first list.

1.e Select MotherBoardX and get a list of dependent parts. Which could have
another dependent list off that.

Debra Dalgleish has excellent instructions on creating dependent lists.
