Silly question - did you open an object in design view such as query, form,
or report then click on menu VIEW - Properties?

This is Access 2007 - it doesn't have the same View menu as earlier versions.
I usually access it with a right click|properties on the actual
control/object. There is a property sheet toggle button on the 'design' menu
which seems to operate but the poperty sheet does not appear. Alt-Enter
toggles the higlight on the button too!

I am having the same issue... In Design mode on a form or Report, clicking
on the Property Sheet icon or selecting an object > right-click > click on
Properties has no effect. I am not able to view or change the DataSource or
Enable or Lock properties.

I have verified that I am current on updates and have run the Office
Diagnostics several times. What else can I try?

Something like that happened to me once, too, in a previous version. I
don't remember the actual steps I did to retrieve it again, but what I'd
done, was "dragging it" out of the screen, so I think I what I did was
to experiment a little with screen resolution (or dual monitor or
something), then I found it again.

Did a bit of "googlin" and found this (watch for linebreak in link)

perhaps it can help?

Thanks Roy,
You hit the nail on the head!
I found out what it was last night and hadn't got round to posting it here
yet.

I had accidentally turned on dual monitor mode so the property sheet was
displaying on the second monitor (whic I don't have!)

What gave me the clue was while trying to use control panel the animation
indicated that it kept restoring to the right of my desktop. The same started
happening with some other windows (I think it was emails) but using the left
arrow moved them back on to the viewable screen.

When I checked the display driver properties there was a simple check box to
enable/disable dual screen mode which I must have accidentally triggered with
a hot key.

Found a fix on another board, thanks to imagirlgeek on
comp.databases.ms-access. Here is what worked:

First, log on as a new Windows user to the computer to see if you have
the same problem. If you can open Property Sheets as the new user, export
the following registy key in regedit:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access\Settings
\CommandBars

Then, log on as the original user, and double click the exported REG
file to import it.
