Help: Lost custom macros and won't load personal.xls

E

Ed Jay

Using Excel 2002 SP3 under XP-pro SP1.

I used a system cleaner and in the process I lost my custom toolbar
buttons with macros assigned. Additionally, when I launch Excel, it no
longer loads 'personal.xls,' contained in Excel/Start.

The buttons are easily replaced, but the macros are contained within a
startup file that won't load. What to do?

TIA,

To follow up my own post...I've discovered that if I rename
'personal.xls,' the file auto loads as it should.

Thanks...the menus are the same. You were right on the money! I also found
'solver' listed. Now I know why it wasn't working either. Thanks.

Custom menus and toolbars are saved in the Excel10.xlb file.

Do a file search for *.xlb......there could be a few versions to choose from.

When you find the correct one, back it up regularly.

As far as Personal.xls working when you re-name it..............could be it has
been disabled as Personal.xls.

Check under Help?About MS Excel>Disabled Items.

Re-enable if you wish.
