Help, lost CPU speed

J

js

I have a computer with an Athlon 1.2 Ghz processor and 256 meg ram.
I just stuck a new 256 ram card in to upgrade the memory to 512 and
something has happened to my setup.
The 512 of ram is showing up ok, but the cpu is now showing as an Athlon
"908" mhz

Can anyone tell me what has happened and how to get my 1.2 Ghz cpu back?
thanks a lot.

At a guess, the FSB (front side bus) needs to be 133 MHz, but it was reset
to 100 MHz.

(I'm not knowledgeable about AMD Athlon processors, but I believe that there
were both 12X100 and 9X133 chips. I assume that you have a 9X133.)

Good luck.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.
