Hello all,
I have VERY frustrating problem - without a keyboard and mouse, how can I
fix it!?
WinXP SP1 was running fine. Nothing newly installed, hardware or software.
Keyboard works in BIOS, but is completely unresponsive booting any form of
WinXP - safe mode, debugging mode...) I can 'test' when it fails by
repeatedly hitting Caps Lock and watching the light. As WinXP loads, halfway
through the white bar that travels across the bottom of the screen it stops
working.
There is no error msg, and Windows seems to be booted normally - desktop,
sound, video. I can even connect to the drives through my home network. The
only other funny thing is my QuickLaunch buttons next to the Start button are
missing.
I'm using PS2 mouse/kybd. I dont have a USB kybd to try, but plugging in a
USB mouse, I hear the beep and windows reports it found a mouse, but it
doesnt work. I never see ANY mouse pointer at all during boot up.
Can ANYONE help me?? I would greatly appreciate it!
Thx
