Help - Interactive logon: Require smart card

I am applying a Group Policy to an OU which contains only one computer
account. The pc is in Active Directory. The pc has Windows XP SP1 with all
the latest patches, Active Directory is Win2K3.
The problem: after enabling the "Interactive logon: Require smart card", the
pc does not apply that policy. I do not want to force smart cards for users
for all machines. I do not want to use a common user account as I will lose
auditing capabilities.

Can anyone clarify if this is a Windows 2003 feature only?

Thanks,
S.

Hello Sean,

This feature was backported from Windows Server 2003 for Windows XP and will
be included in SP2. You can call the support number referenced in the
Knowledge base below and request a hotfix for "834875 Update for the
"Interactive logon: Require smart card" security setting" and install it to
the Windows XP machine in the Smart Card forced OU.

To read more about this hotfix see the following article.
