I have exactly the same problem. Even after deleting all files in the Data
Store and Download folder and downloading the language pack again.

Can someone help?

Yea same here, did all the possible things with any other error code, but
keeps me giving code 2, I really don't know what's wrong, cause my computer
could easily handle it

Same here, have about tried everything to get the EN language pack
installed (which used to work before). Every single time, the Code 2
error appears.

Strangely enough, I was able to install the German language pack, but
that was just a tryout to see if all language packs have the same
problem.

I have the same problem with Swedish version. I cannot install English, but
Spanish worked OK. I have a new Dell inspiron 530. I reinstalled Windows both
from recovery partion and CD. Tried with all other Windows update first and
with no updates before language pack. Always failed with error code 2.

Hi all with languagepack and code2;

I had the same issue with a 956GS intel chipset 1Gb mem and a 6420 core2
duo. (Asus Pundit P2-P5945G)

I have tried it wit english and dutch system buildes VSTA Ultimate 32bit.

With dutch version German language was installable. Outers wont install with
code 2.

I read some suggestions to take a english version and install the dutch LP,
but that failes, and all outher LP's also.

Today i have installed an Intel DG965SSCK mobo with 2Gb and also a E6420,
with the dutch vsta ultimate 32bit systembuilder. It installs complete and
also all the updates installs at once without any error, and als the EN LP
installs.

An other problem was my Office 2k7 PP Du installation. I have a volume
license exe that could not run without aborting with a message that a cab
file was corrupt. Also the trial downloads and my ActionPack CD could not
install on the 945GS system. I ran on my new system the Volume License exe
and it was unpacked without any error and also installed.

My conclusion is that it has to do with the hardware or a driver in the
945GS chipset with a 6420 processor is causing this error.

I have also a P5N32-SLI Deluxe with a dual core 945 processor and that is
also installing fine.

My thoughts on this is that the language packs are actually already
installed, but Windows Update doesn't see this and tries to install them
anyway, and in the middle of the process realizes they are already there (in
some forms) cancels the installation, but still leaves them in the list of
updates.

You should be prompted to download them if you go to a website written in
one of those languages anyway, and if you aren't then you probably already
have them, or your browser settings are not set to prompt to download files
to read that website. Go to say (a chinese website) and see if the characters
come up. If not, you'll be prompted to download the pack, and if they do then
you actually already have it (came preinstalled on Ultimate for example.)

That's the best conclusion I have come to.
