Help: IMAP gone awry

Please help.

First, I didn't know that when you use POP3, all of your
messages will be downloaded meaning that if one is using
web-based mail, old messages will not be available on the
website anymore.

Thus, upon researching there was a better alternative,
which was IMAP. Since I discovered IMAP after using
POP3, all my e-mail messages were already in my
computer. So, I transferred everything from my Outlook
inbox to the IMAP inbox.

I was relieved that I restored the prior setting and at
the same time retrieving messages through Outlook, they
were synchronized.

However, I found an error in the website displaying my
mail. So what I did was I download my messages again
using POP3 back to my computer. Here's where it went
awry, ALL of my messages were "Received" on the same
date. A 12/1 e-mail was received today 2/28, etc. So, I
was really worried to find this and so I put it back
again in the IMAP inbox and saw that it was normal.

However, now they both differ! The two are not
synchronized. The web inbox is dated accordingly, but
the Outlook inbox is not, they're all 2/28! Why is
this? How can I remedy this problem?

Thank very much for reading.

It turns out that I panicked. What happened was that
Outlook literally sees the message as being "Received"
not as sent.

So, all I needed to do was to add the sent field so that
it could be sorted by its original date.
