HELP! IE6 settings change on their own

I have IE6 & XP Home with all of the updates & patches
available installed. My problem is that when my computer
sits idle for a few hours, my Internet Options will
change on their own. My History option will change from 0
to 20 days for files to be kept, my Security & Privacy
settings will change from Default to Custom Levels, and
my Connection setting changes from Always Dial My Default
Connection to Never Dial A Connection. Once I reboot my
machine, the settings go back to the way I originally had
them set. I have scanned for viruses and do not know what
else to do. Does anyone know what is happening. TIA

Arnold,
You win the prize. It was some sort of spyware. I
followed your link, but after reading some reviews of
SpyBot, I chose to download & install Ad-Adware 6. It
found numerous cookies and some executables I was not
aware of and safely quarantined them. No more changing
settings. Thanks!
