While searching for malware I ran a program which found some questionable
files in C:\Documents and Settings\Brian. I came across a file named, ntuser
4,292 KB Video CD Movie, and the date modified is when I logged on last. If
I check it's properties quickly after I log on the file size is changing
while I watch. There is also, ntuser.dat 1 KB Text Document, and ntuser 1 KB
Configuration Settings. The Video CD Movie and Text Document will not open
and I receive an massage that "The process cannot access the file because it
is being used by another process". I am not using any program and only
Windows Explorer is open. What is this file?

Hi Brian,

Don't mess with it.)

From a previous post:

ntuser.dat is a registry hive file that loads as HKEY_CURRENT_USER when a
user logs on. The HKEY_CURRENT_USER (ntuser.dat) contains the user profile
for the user who is currently logged on to the computer. The user profile
includes environment variables, personal program groups, desktop settings,
network connections, printers, and application preferences.

You can edit HKEY_CURRENT_USER of other users by loading this hive under
HKEY_USERS (you must log on as administrator to edit this hive).
