After lotsa problems descrived on other posts, I stripped all versions of
Microsoft Outlook off my computer. Then, i installed Outlook 2002 from a CD I
had. Upon startup, I got an error message: "Cannot start Microsoft Office
Outlook". MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been
caused by installing the wrong messaging software. Please resinstall
Outloook". So I did. Got the same message. Then stripped it off the machine
and downloaded Beta 2007 version. Upon completing installation, this error
message poppoed up: "microsfot Office Outlook 2007 [Beta] must be installed
before you can install Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact
Manager [Beta], Install Outlook from CD1 and then start this installation
again". I don't have the "CD1" as I downloaded the Beta. How can I get this
thing to work?

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager is misnamed. It does not include Outlook. You would need to download and install Microsoft Office 2007, at least the Outlook 2007 component.

The Business Contact Manager is an add-in that requires Outlook 2007 to be
installed first. To install it, you must install Office 2007 Professional
Plus. Go back to the beta site, request that beta, wait for your
installation key to be sent and then download and install it. Then you can
install BCM.

I gave up. I uninstalled OL 2007. Then, I called Microsoft Office support
because I kept getting error messages on installing Office 2003. They sent
me to the "support.microsoft.com" website and had me enter 295823 in the
"Search Support KB" box. That brought up the "patch cannot be opened" error.
Clicking on that brought up a fix dated 7/27/06 by clicking on "msicuu2.exe".
I am back to the old system and am happy.
