I am new to Access. I created a select query for my database to see how it
would run....it ran fine. However, I created this query as a trial run and
deleted it. Unfortunately, it's not gone. In order for me to access my
data, a parameter query pops up prompting me to enter a value. How do I
remove this?!! Please help!

I am clicking cancel. But when I want to click to open my forms, a parameter
query box pops up again....asking me to enter a value. I can't just simply
click and open my forms as I did before I created this select query..(which I
thought I deleted). How do I get it not to run? Thanks in advance.

What I was trying to determine is what you were doing that caused the box to
appear, and it appears that you're opening a form.

If you get a pop-up like that when you're opening the form, then either the
form is based on a query that has a parameter in it, or there's a control on
the form bound to a field that doesn't exist in the underlying recordset.
If, for example, it's asking you for Field2, is there actually a Field2 in
the underlying recordset? If not, then look at the control source for all of
your controls to find out which one is trying to retrieve that value.

1. Firstly, check the RecordSource of the Form. Does it still use the
Parameter Query? if it does, you need to change the RecordSource of the
Form.

2. If your Form's RecordSource is an SQL String that has the Parameter
Access asks when you open the Form, you need to change the SQL String being
used as the RecordSource for the Form.

3. Check also the OrderBy and Filter Property of the Form. You might have
inadvertantly have set these using the Parameter or a Field that is no
longer included in the Form's RecordSource.

4. The old Query can sit there without any problem. If you want, go to the
Queries tab of the Database Containers window and delete the old Parameter
Query.
