Bonjour,

J've just bought a laserjet5 with a jetdirect J2552A and want to use il
with a mac (G4 bi450) and mac OS 10.3.

It works fine with a BNC hub, but I canot set its parameters to use
Ethertalk port (rj45).

When I open HP MIO menu (on printer), CFG Network is always NO !

I tried several times with :
CFG Network ON
Novell NO
DLC LLC ON
TCP IP ON
Ethertalm ON
CFG TCP/IP ON
BootTP NO
IP, SM, LG and GW standard...

But never works with rj45.

Self test configuration page tells always "port select BNC"

Where is the mistake ?

Merci beaucoup.

Yes. When you set it to YES, it means "yes, I want to configure the
network setup right now." The next time, it'll go back to No. (Or off,
I forget.)

Obsolete Microsoft protocol, you can disable that.
Ethertalm ON

You can disable that unless you plan to use Ethertalk.

HP's site seems to indicate that both the J2552A and B models autoselect
the connector. If you have a cable or terminator attached to the BNC
connector, remove it. Make sure that the RJ45 cable is good and
connected to a working port. If you are trying to connect a computer
directly to the printer without a hub or switch, you'll have to use a
crossover RJ45 cable.

Thank you, I had just to find the good cable, and all is OK.

Merci beaucoup.
