Try deleting in while in Safe Mode.

1. Close all programs.
2. Start Windows Explorer and try deleting the folder.
3. If 2 fails, goto Task Manager and kill explorer.exe.
4. Start explorer again for doing File -> New Task in Task Manager and
type explorer.exe and hit enter.
5. Launch Windows Explorer again and try to delete the folder.

Give this is a try if nothing else worked for you. It has worked for
me sometimes.

Thanks to all for responding...it finally deleted without these
measures but will keep in my hip pocket for next time.

Those who have similar problems would love to know
how you did it. Care to share your secret?
