My PC recently crashed and I have had to reinstall all my software,
which has of course meant that all my documents, including emails, have
been lost from my computer! Fortunately, I backed up my documents to an
external hard drive just the other day. So, I now have an "Office Data
File" folder/file entitled Old Emails on my external hard drive.
Therefore the questions I'm hoping someone out there can answer for me
are 1) is this file/folder likely to contain my old emails and/or
possibly any of my old Outlook settings? & 2) If so, how dow I restore
them to Outlook, that I have now reinstalled on my PC? I am using a XP
based PC with Outlook 2003. Thanks.

Copy it to your hard drive and use File-> OPen-> Outlook Data File... from
within Outlook.
