Hi...

When using Norton Ghost '03, or I guess any version.. how does the program
actually work in regards to:

I'm copying a 30g 5400 to a 40g 7200.. it will make an image of the 30g,
what happens to the additional 10g.. in my case, using XP / NTFS, will it
format first, then mirror image??? I found a pretty good site, but this is
got me puzzled...
Thanks.. anyone know of any pitfalls to what I'm doing.. please let me
know.. it's my wife's PC!

Here's the site.. thanks!!!

It can just make an image if you want. But if you are cloning a 30Gb to a
40Gb drive with Ghost, it will just expand the existing partition(s) to
fill the available space, formatting as it goes. If you had two partitions
on the old drive it would distribute the space equally among the two
partitions on the new drive.

Well.. so far so good.. it worked.. the PC's been running for almost 12
hours.. I am hopoing this was successful... my last attempt using Western
Digital's software didn;t work.. and I'm not sure if it was the software or
XP's built in copyright protection... matter of fact, I'd like some insight
how that works.... all I know is I hope it;s smart enough to know it's the
same everything- mobo, drives..with only one change, a larger and faster
hard drive.. I hope.. thanks!
