Hi
Please forgive me if my lingo is wrong. I'm new to access, but
not to computers.
I have some data in an Excel spread sheet that I want to insert
into an Access table.
Unfortunately, it is all in one column in an Excel sheet.
There are about 36000 cells.
There is a pattern that repeats:
every four cells contains a "logical record".
(1) serial number (integer)
(2) name (text)
(3) id number (integer)
(4) points (float)
So, I have about 9000 "records" of four cells each.
If these had been formatted as a table (four cells across and
9000 cells down) there wouldn't be any problem. However, the way
things are formatted, it isn't immediately obvious to me how to
insert this data from Excel into Access.
Could someone give me a hint as to how to approach this? Is there
some way to select out every fourth cell in a column?
Thanks.
Ray.
