HELP Errors in Windows

D

David Chastain

I am working on a customers system that is having
several "Help" errors.

When Clicking on "Help" in an Office 2000 Application I
receive" "MSOHelp.exe has Generated Errors and Will Be
Closed"

When I click on "Help" in the Start Menu I
receive: "explorer.exe has Generated Errors and Will Be
Closed"

When I click on Help in a "Windows 2000" I
receive: "Hh.exe has Generated Errors and Will Be Closed"

There are others but I am assume that they are all related.
I have downloaded the Windows 2000 Help file and replace
the existing copy on the computer but that made no change
in the system.

System has Win 2000 SP4.
Office Pro 2000 w/SR1a

Thanks for any suggestions,

David

McAfee Anti-Virus is installed and up to date. Could it
still be infected?

Try an online scan...
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/

If it comes up with something, get the Symantec fix sheet,
and do ecerything it says to line for line.
The go back to Google and search for "Stinger"
Run it also

Yes, you could still be infected if you have not put the patches on.
Some viruses try to disable anti-virus programs.

Cheers,

Cliff
