HELP! Deleted unsaved file

S

Sharbin

I created an excel spreadsheet and accidently deleted it before I saved
it. Is there anyway to recover the document? I looked in the recylcle
bin, and also "recent documents" but its not there. Help!

Hi Sharbin!

Sorry! but you're out of luck. You might have an old version on your
drive somewhere or on your network.

But you've learned the important lesson of backing up at frequent
intervals. OK this time it was your bad, but next time it could be
another reason.

You could try www.recovermyfiles.com . Use their demo program and it may
pick up a temporary file that held your data before you closed excel. Make
sure you add your documents and settings folder to the search, somewhere in
there will be where your temp files are stored.

Good luck

Sharbin,

sorry to say you lost this one. For the future, turn on the automatic
save feature in Excel before you start your work. You can set the save
interval so that if your PC goes down etc. you will still have a copy
you can retrieve with most of your work intact.

G/L in the future,
Scott
