HELP! ... Custom color themes

Josh

I know how to create a standard set of new theme colors. But does anyone
know how to adjust the tints / shades of those colors that PowerPoint then
provides in the drop-down menus? Rather than five variation of lighter or
darker by x%, I need to offer SPECIFIC shades of my original colors. How can
I do this???

I don't know how to do this, but you might check the theme's XML and see if
tints and shades are represented there and if changing them has any effect.

Alternatively, you could create custom colors -- you do this by editing the
XML. Instructions are here: http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/customcolors1.htm
(Download the PDF.)

This wouldn't be as clean as adjusting the tints and shades directly, but it
should at least make it possible for you to make the appropriate colors
available.

You might also check the links there to Tony Jollans' article about how
theme colors are represented in the Word object model. You might be able to
adjust that code to give specific shades and tints in PPT, I don't know.
