Hi,
I don't know what happened, but when I booted my Win2kServer Development machine today, something crashed my Control Panel.
I've set Start menu to auto-expand the Control Panel. What it shows now is completely nuts: Loads of squares instead of letters at some entries, several "Administration" entries and four folders "Printers", "Tasks", "Network" and "Fonts" (which are rendered properly).
If I click one of the "â–¡â–¡â–¡â–¡â–¡â–¡â–¡â–¡" entries or one of the "Administration" entries all I get is a "Error while executing command." message box.
If I click the "Control Panel" entry in Windows Explorer or right-click Control Panel in the Start menu to open the folder in Windows Explorer, everything is displayed correctly and works as expected. It's only the Flyout version that's messed up.
I'd like to try to save my current account before setting up a new one. Is there anyone who can tell me which registry entry or file system folder I have to fix to get the Control Panel Flyout back working properly?
TIA,
Axel Dahmen
