Help! Connection times out to only one site from only one PC

I can't consistently connect to netvibes.com using my XP SP2 laptop.

Ping times out.

Web connections using IE and firefox almost always time out, but
occasionally return a partial or full page.

Running Linux in VMware on my laptop has no problem connecting to
netvibes.

All other computers from the same DSL connection (including another XP
computer) are able to connect to netvibes. My laptop connects to all
web sites fine from any location, but can't get to netvibes from home
or from other locations.

The problem only started in the past month and I haven't made any major

configuration changes I'm aware of.

A packet sniffer shows a SYN packet going out to netvibes, and a SYN
ACK immediately returned, but my computer doesn't seem to acknowledge
the SYN ACK.

Any ideas? I've turned off all anti-virus, firewalls, and other
programs. No luck.

I can't explain the packet sniffing, but the other symptoms say MTU setting.
