Help - Can I install and run Microsoft Office on Windows XP?

Hi,

Just wondering if I can install and run the standard Microsoft Office on
Windows XP? The reason I ask this question is there is a Office XP for
Windows XP, and I don't know the differences between Office XP and regular
Microsoft Office.

Thanks,

Tom

There's no such thing as "standard" or "regular" Microsoft
Office, in the sense in which you mean it, and the "XP" part of
the Office XP name has nothing to do with the "XP" in the
Microsoft Windows XP name (the XP is used in both names just for
marketing purposes).

There have been several versions of Microsoft Office, and recent
names have had a year appended to the them (Office 95, Office 97,
Office 2000). Office XP is just the latest offering in that line;
it's also known as Office 2002.

All versions of Microsoft Office, starting with Office 97, work
under Windows XP. I'm not sure about all components of Office 95,
but I can confirm that at least Word 95 and Excel 95 also work
under Windows XP, so I suspect the rest of it does too.

This answers all my questions. Thanks, Ken. It helps a lot!
