HELP - Application crashes when IE's temp files/history is cleared

I have an MFC application with embedded browser controls. With my
application open, if I have IE open and I try to delete temporary
files (Tools->Internet Options)/Clear history, my MFC application
crashes. It does not happen if I am running in debug mode.
It also does not happen with a similar application, but a VB one
running.
If I clear IE history/files from control panel, I'm safe.

What could be wrong?

Let's make sure it's not the TIF. Remove the index. A new one will be
created on reboot.
